Sarah Neeley….. A lot of us still remember Sarah Neeley, a former participant on the TLC show “My 600-lb Life”. Sarah’s story is one of determination, perseverance, and the power of the human spirit.
Sarah was born in Oklahoma in 1988. She had a difficult childhood, growing up with an alcoholic mother who was unable to take care of her. This led to Sarah turning to food as a source of comfort, and by the time she was in her early twenties, she weighed over 600 pounds.
Sarah’s weight had a significant impact on her life. She was unable to work, and her mobility was severely limited. She was also struggling with depression and anxiety, which made it difficult for her to leave her home. Sarah knew she needed to make a change, and in 2016, she contacted Dr. Nowzaradan, a bariatric surgeon in Houston, Texas, who specializes in helping people who are morbidly obese.
Dr. Nowzaradan agreed to help Sarah, but he made it clear that she would need to make significant changes to her diet and lifestyle if she wanted to lose weight. Sarah moved to Houston to be closer to Dr. Nowzaradan and began her weight loss journey.
Sarah’s journey was not an easy one. She had to overcome many obstacles, including her addiction to food and her mental health issues. She also had to deal with the emotional trauma of her childhood and the impact it had on her relationship with food.
Despite these challenges, Sarah was determined to succeed. She worked hard to follow Dr. Nowzaradan’s diet plan and began to exercise regularly. Over the course of her journey, she lost over 400 pounds, much to the surprise of viewers all over the world. None of us can deny that Sarah’s weight loss transformation was absolutely astounding and truly inspiring to so many people across the globe.
Ok, guys but Where is Sarah now?
Today, Sarah is a different person than she was when she first appeared on the show. She is a confident woman and mother now, living a purposeful life with her loving partner.
Sarah hasn’t had quite the smoothest journey after the show. Sarah had a miscarriage, apparently. She revealed this information in her, “Where are they Now?” episode and explained how it was a difficult time in her life. It was a struggle for her to keep off the weight without Dr. Now’s supervision while suffering such a devastating loss.
It could have been enough to send anyone back to old habits, but Sarah managed to stay strong. It wasn’t all bad for Sarah after her time on My 600-lb Life with Dr. Now. In June 2020, Sarah shared on Instagram that she married the love of her life, Jonah Carpenter, and announced that they were expecting a baby. In August 2020, she revealed they were expecting a baby girl and welcomed their daughter Gwendolyn Snow Carpenter sometime in December 2020. Sarah shared pictures of Gwendolyn’s first birthday when she was a year old on her Instagram. Sarah has been relatively quite active on her social media, especially her Facebook and Instagram. After her time on the show, Sarah, mostly posts about her family, her dog, who’s been seen on one of her Instagram posts, along with her daughter and her husband. The former reality star also advocates for those struggling with addiction by sharing motivational posts on her Instagram. Sarah is also working toward becoming a Substance Abuse Counselor.
She has gone on to live a very active and productive life despite struggling with obesity at the start of her weight loss journey on My 600-pound life.
